I've been on the hunt for the perfect travel daypack for quite some time now. For me, the ideal travel daypack would be ultra-compactible, waterproof, comfortable even when fully loaded, have features like sternum and hip straps, internal organization, daisy chains, and deep side pockets.
Fortunately, the self-described "outdoorspeople" at The Pacific Northwest have created that "unicorn" (well, almost).
Smaller than a can of beer when packed down, the 24L Sea to Sky pack is fully-waterproof and has ample storage for everything you need. Made with CORDURA fabric, this pack is chock-full of features like a roll top closure, stability and sternum straps, hooks, carabiner loops, front zippered pocket, and deep mesh side pockets.
This pack only falls short of "unicorn" status from lack of a waist belt, no internal organization, and the lighter colors are semi-transparent – giving thieves a sneak-peak into the contents of the pack, especially in the front zipper pocket.
